The Real Margarita

The margarita is one of the most popular cocktails served in bars, restaurants, and homes.  At an average of 740 calories per 10-ounce serving, it’s also one of the most calorie-heavy drinks - but it doesn’t have to be.  If you make a margarita from scratch, as opposed to using a “mix,” you’ll be surprised by its fresh flavor as well as its simplicity.

BEWARE: A margarita without all the liquid fillers is powerful!

Mix the following in a cocktail shaker with ice:

1 1/2 oz tequila

1 1/2 oz triple sec or Cointreau

1 oz of soda water

1/2 oz lime luice

Salt rim of glass and serve.
